Personal Cheque Books

If you currently have a Hunter United Personal Cheque Book, you should have already received a letter from us, advising that Westpac (who underwrites the cheques) is withdrawing the facility from the market. A copy of that letter can be viewed here.

This affects all financial institutions using Westpac chequing facilities, not just Hunter United.

While the withdrawal of the cheque facility is not related to the merger, we want you to be aware that any Hunter United cheques you have already written must be presented or ‘cashed’ by the people/businesses you issued them to, by 31 May 2021. Any Hunter United cheques presented after this date, will be dishonoured by Westpac, regardless of when the cheque was written.

IMB Bank can provide you with a new personal cheque book, should you wish to continue making payments in that way. If you would like to request a new cheque book, please visit your nearest Hunter United branch or call the helpline on 1800 370 773.
