Changes to membership structure

With Hunter United, you have been able to have multiple membership numbers. For example, you may hold:

  • An individual membership number – where one person is allocated a single member number.
  • A joint membership number – where multiple people have a joint membership under a single member number.
  • A trust, business, or entity membership number – where individuals have set up memberships for a trust or business and the trust or business is allocated a member number.

At IMB Bank, member numbers are assigned to a single member only, and are NOT shared. From 22 May, all Hunter United members will each be given one, unique member number.

Individual member numbers

If you hold multiple individual Hunter United membership numbers, these will be automatically consolidated for you under a single member number with IMB Bank.

Joint member numbers

If you hold a joint Hunter United membership number with someone else, you will be given your own unique IMB Bank member number. You will need this member number to access any joint accounts you hold.

Individual and Joint member numbers

If you have a combination of individual and joint memberships, you will be able to access all these accounts using a single, unique member number with IMB.

Business entity member numbers (including Trusts)

If you have established a membership for a business entity, that entity will be given a unique IMB member number.

Individuals who are authorities-to-operate on a business membership will use their member number to access the business’ accounts that they can switch to in the Entity tab in Internet Banking.
